Frequently Asked Questions
What are the differences between MJHS and other private, independent schools? Public schools?

While MJHS shares many of the same characteristics with top, highly respected, private, independent schools, it offers educational differences to meet the individual needs of its students.  MJHS has a complete educational package that provides experienced educators and administrators, specialized staff, small class sizes, and an individualized approach with each student.

Unlike other schools, MJHS utilizes the Harkness Method.  Uniquely, MJHS provides a modern orthodox Jewish education serving the needs of Jewish families in Memphis in addition to utilizing a complete "secular" curriculum.  Another distinguishing feature of MJHS is our integrated curriculum, which exposes children to many components of Jewish tradition throughout the day including but not limited to the Hebrew language, prayer, culture, art, history, and geography.
