Dr. Scott Beebe joins the Memphis Jewish High School Staff

Memphis Jewish High School (MJHS) has added child and adpolescent psychologist Dr. Scott Beebe to the staff.  Dr. Beebe will work with students and staff several days a week.  Dr. Beebe has many years of experience working with youth.  After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Memphis, Dr. Beebe served as a psychologist for Shelby County Schools for eleven years.  In private practice, he focuses on study coaching and psychoeducational assessment.  He has been providing study coaching for students in Memphis for the past fifteen years.

Dr. Scott Beebe and his wife, Dr. Amy Beebe, have two children: a 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy.   He is the Scoutmaster of a Boy Scout Troop in Germantown and the President of the Parents Association at his daughter’s boarding school where he has helps train student leaders.

At Memphis Jewish High School, Dr. Beebe will work with the student body to enhance teamwork, school spirit and conflict resolution skills.  He will also help students develop improved study skills and consult with staff and parents to best meet the educational needs of individual students.

According to Avi Gellman, Dean of Jewish Studies at MJHS, Dr. Bebee’s presence at the school really adds a professional value to the educational process to the benefit of the MJHS community. Gellman commented, “Hiring the perfect person for such a position in a small school also helps us focus on the needs and the uniqueness of every student. I’m sure we will gain a lot from this investment.”
